Our client is based in Skipton and is currently looking for a Senior Accounts Assistant to join their team in this newly created role. This is a brilliant time to join a growing business who have an excellent team spirit running through the finance function, and you will be offered lots of support as you settle in. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a mix of all-round transactional processing and reconciliations, as well as some exposure to routine month end and year end duties. You will be given autonomy and demonstrate a willingness to support fellow team members.

As Senior Accounts Assistant your duties will include:

  • Manage the daily cashflow forecasting and bank reconciliations, posting all receipts and payments
  • Maintain and process sales ledger, and purchase ledger transactions accurately and on time
  • Set up new supplier accounts and process all the transactional reporting and subsequent payment schedules, resolving queries efficiently
  • Manage the credit control and provide weekly debtors report
  • Accruals/Prepayments
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing tasks, including reconciliations and audit prep
  • Prepare all monthly and yearly VAT/Intrastat returns as required
  • Work closely with the commercial team, monitoring the WIP and cost management of projects
  • Support the department in streamlining tighter controls and processes due to new business integration
