We are currently recruiting for a well-established business based in Burnley who are looking for a solid Management Accountant to join their finance team and report directly into the Board of Directors. There are some amazing prospects with the role and possibly promotion in the future is within reach for the right candidate.
The role will be involved in all aspects of the business from a month end reporting perspective and will require the candidate to work autonomously across all departments liaising with both financial and operational peers. It offers the opportunity to progress and develop your exposure to financial projects and strategic influence with key stakeholders in the wider business.
Duties as Senior Management Accountant will include:
- Preparation of the monthly management accounts including full commentary for the board of Directors
- Assist with the budgetary control, internal expenditure and overhead management
- Work closely with other departments across the business, controlling the costing variances and developing accountability within the strategic plan
- Develop the variance analysis and KPIs around manufacturing costs (labour, material variance, overhead management)
- Responsible for the HMRC/VAT submissions
- Monitor the accuracy of the nominal ledger, and all the transactional processing of the business
- Influence the reporting around cashflow forecasting, providing tighter controls and monitor the daily cashflow
The role would suit a candidate who has already gained a solid background within the month end reporting cycle but wants to gain more autonomy in a wider business sense. You will work alongside both finance and non-finance personnel and challenge workflows where appropriate, influencing decision makers in the wider business. You will be recently qualified within the profession (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), and have some solid experience with managing peers across the business, preferably within a production or manufacturing organisation.
