We have a fantastic opportunity to join a successful business based in Blackburn who are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller, in this newly created position. The business is continuing to grow and has a fantastic order book and growth strategy, so with this in mind now is the time to bolster the leadership team.
The business has a few different revenue streams, and the role will involve developing both the financial and commercial reporting, in line with a more automated world. You will be key to improving processes and efficiencies around reporting, sales, and cost management, but at the same time be hands on with the management of the finance team, developing individual and departmental growth and accountability.
Key responsibilities for the Financial Controller:
- Fully responsible for the month end reporting pack with commentary and the preparation of the statutory report pack.
- Prepare the annual financial budgets and subsequent forecasts as well as cashflow management with various projects.
- Partner with the Commercial teams, managing the labour time versus costs closely but also the WIP and contract performance.
- Monitor the cost base, sales price and cost variances on a regular basis continually reviewing gross profit.
- Responsible for the reporting of Tax, including R&D and other tax relief claims.
- Manage the company payroll process including monthly commissions, statutory claims, CIS calculations.
- Improve the automation of the financial management accounts.
- Develop the financial modelling around budgeting and forecasting, including on-going variances.
- Main point of contact for the auditors and legal representatives.
