We are currently recruiting for a thriving business based in Accrington who deliver essential services to local government and the wider community. They have a requirement for a detail-driven Finance Assistant to support and strengthen our finance operations over the next 12 months while they continue to grow further.
What you'll do:
- Take ownership of the majority of transactional processes and contribute to wider business activities, including:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently with associated reconciliation
- Managing internal expenditure across multiple cost centres and allocating costs accordingly
- Overseeing internal supplier contract management for all suppliers to the company
- Acting as the main point of contact for billing on all services provided within each specific service contract
- Managing company credit cards and handling all cash payments
- Monitoring cashflow and overseeing daily banking activity
- Ensuring timely reconciliation and allocation of funds
- Providing accurate monthly financial reporting to support business decisions
- Attending and supporting the planning of open days, awards evenings, and service user interactions
What you'll need:
- Proven experience in purchase ledger with full reconciliation, across multi-site operation
- Strong understanding of internal expenditure workflows and budget control
- Confidence producing accurate financial reports and being accountable for expenditure
- High attention to detail and strong Excel skills
- A proactive, team-focused mindset and a willingness to support broader business events
In addition, the ideal candidate will be highly organised with excellent problem-solving capabilities and excellent communication skills that enable them to present their financial information clearly. They should be commercially minded and understand how businesses operate financially across multiple sites and be the go-to person for queries.
