We are currently recruiting for a thriving business based in Blackpool, which is a family-focused organisation with a long history within their sector. They have a requirement for a detail-driven Finance Assistant to support and strengthen the finance team and work closely with the management accountant over the coming months. This is a chance for you to develop your financial skills and work closely in producing the month-end reporting of the company’s financials. They are looking to develop a candidate and support career growth with experience and study support for the AAT qualification.
What you’ll do as Finance Assistant:
- Take ownership of the majority of transactional processes and contribute to wider business activities, including:
- Processing purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently with associated reconciliation
- Managing internal expenditure across multiple cost centres and allocating costs accordingly
- Overseeing internal supplier contract management for all suppliers to the company
- Managing company credit cards and handling all cash payments
- Monitoring cashflow and overseeing daily banking activity
- Ensuring timely balance sheet and month-end reconciliations and assisting with accurate allocation of nominals
- Assisting with producing monthly financial reporting to support business decisions
What you’ll need experience in:
- Proven experience in purchase ledger with full reconciliation, across multiple cost centres
- Strong understanding of internal expenditure workflows and budget control
- Looking to work towards completing AAT level 3 or 4
- High attention to detail and strong Excel skills
- A proactive, team-focused mindset and a willingness to support broader business events
In addition, the ideal candidate will be highly organised with excellent problem-solving capabilities and excellent communication skills that enable them to present their financial information clearly. They should be commercially minded and understand how businesses operate financially with multiple revenue streams and be the go-to person for queries.
