The Role
We’re looking for a skilled Data Center Technician in Glenrothes, United Kingdom to provide on‑site technical support at local data center facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Remote Hands & Smart Hands support (cabling, power cycling, hardware swaps)
- Server rack installation and decommissioning
- Cross‑connect and patch panel management
- Hardware troubleshooting and diagnostics
- Visual inspections and inventory audits
- Escort and access coordination for client visits
- Emergency response and on‑call availability
Requirements
- Hands‑on experience with data center infrastructure
- Knowledge of server hardware, networking, and cabling standards
- Reliable transportation and proximity to local data centers
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to lift 25kg+ equipment
- Flexible availability including weekends/holidays for urgent requests
Nice to Have
- Certifications: CompTIA Server+, Network+, CDCP, CCNA
