We want you to join us! For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd. We are seeking a talented Technical UI Designer to join our UI team and contribute to our upcoming unannounced projects!

In this role, you'll be instrumental in crafting the essential UI systems for ongoing projects, collaborating closely with UI designers and artists to tackle challenging and engaging UI obstacles. This opportunity will not only enable you to become proficient in a new engine but also allow you to influence its evolution by establishing best practices and pioneering innovative approaches for our future projects! At Rebellion, we believe in collaboration over confinement. As a member of the UI team, you'll be pivotal in creating effective, intricate, and aesthetically pleasing UIs. You won't just be laying the groundwork for projects; you'll also have the chance to design interfaces yourself and contribute your ideas, collaborating with a diverse range of talents and experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Be the point of contact in a visual scripting toolset, creating core UI systems for unannounced projects.
  • Implement the most complex UI features yourself, adding your own ideas to help drive toward quality.
  • Build components that can be used by the rest of the UI team to implement complex UI designs.
  • Work with technical artists and tools programmers to actively improve the toolset for the UI team.

Requirements:

  • A solid portfolio showcasing various examples of your Technical UI expertise.
  • A deep enthusiasm for UI/UX standards and a keen eye for best practices.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unity, Unreal, or similar platforms.
  • Experience using node-based visual scripting editors.
  • Able to implement responsive layouts.
  • Experience planning, implementing, and sharing core UI elements for use by other UI designers.
  • Knowledge of profiling and optimising to improve runtime performance.
  • Having experience in mobile UI implementation would be a great plus!
