We’re looking for a talented and experienced Senior Environment Artist to help drive the visual quality of an exciting unannounced title. This role can be based at any of our Oxford, Warwick or Runcorn studios. We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation and full support to ensure a smooth transition.
Responsibilities
- Create environments in tight collaboration with level designers.
- Assist in planning the space, considering narrative and visual storytelling, while documenting intentions.
- Create functional assets that can be shared across the project in respect of technical and artistic constraints.
- Communicate and collaborate with key stakeholders to confirm task direction and consistency of own work.
- Ensure the technical and artistic quality of the project by collaborating with technical artists and making changes when necessary.
- Implement and incorporate feedback from producers and project leads.
- Support the Lead Environment Artist with any ad-hoc tasks and duties.
- Act as an active mentor and role model for the environment art team, maintaining morale and fostering creativity and enthusiasm.
Requirements
- Strong experience in a professional game development environment, including profiling and optimising scenes for current-generation platforms.
- Experience lighting environments in a game engine.
- Good knowledge of 3D software; Blender preferred.
- Knowledge of Substance Painter, PBR material workflow and high-to-low baking.
- Experience gathering and utilising reference efficiently when creating 3D art.
- Ability to create clean models with accurate texel density and game-ready geometry.
- A good eye for composition, scale, and lighting.
- Ability to present work professionally, adapt to direction changes, and remain open to learning new systems and workflows.
