For 30 years we've been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
We're seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and technically proficient QA Analyst to help shape our next wave of exciting projects. This is your chance to join one of the UK's leading independent studios, renowned for original IPs such as Sniper Elite, Zombie Army and Atomfall.
The QA Analyst position is focused on testing games and applications across multiple platforms in accordance with established test plans. You'll be responsible for crafting succinct bug reports, including all pertinent supporting information and delivering thoughtful, sharp analysis. As an integral member of the QA team, you will contribute significantly to the quality assurance efforts for all of Rebellion's thrilling titles. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in game testing and familiarity with game testing models.
The Rebellion QA team is committed to ensuring that every game released meets the highest standards of design and development. This exciting opportunity can be based out of either of our studios in Oxford or Warwick, offering flexibility, collaboration, and the chance to work with a world-class team. We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment. Responsibilities:- You will be responsible for testing various aspects of the game, including gameplay mechanics, controls, graphics, audio, user interface and overall performance.
- This involves playing the game extensively and systematically trying to identify any bugs, glitches, or issues that could affect the player's experience.
- When you encounter a problem during testing, you need to document it accurately by providing detailed information about how to reproduce the issue, including steps and conditions that lead to the bug.
- You will be involved in creating and maintaining test cases and test scenarios based on the game's design and requirements.
- Games are often released on multiple platforms, such as consoles, PC, or mobile devices. You will need to test the game on different hardware configurations and operating systems to ensure compatibility and optimal performance across various platforms.
- You will be expected to maintain detailed records of your testing activities, including test plans, test results, and any issues encountered during testing.
- You will be expected to follow established testing methodologies, best practices and quality standards to ensure consistency and accuracy in your testing processes.
- Extensive knowledge of software testing methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of bug testing and tracking software (Jira/Redmine, TestRail/TestLink).
- Professional experience of testing current generation of consoles and PC platforms.
- Thorough understanding of different game genres, mechanics and platforms is crucial.
- Able to process strong analytical skills to identify patterns, reproduce issues and troubleshoot problems effectively.
- The ability to think critically and approach testing scenarios from different angles is essential.
- Should be able to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced game development environment.
- A willingness to learn and stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
