For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games.

We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

We are looking for an engaged, proactive and experienced Production Manager to join the Publishing team at Rebellion.

The ideal candidate should have at least two to three years’ experience in a Production role in publishing and be looking for a new challenge.

Your role will be to manage the production process for Rebellion’s graphic novels and comics alongside a small number of fiction and non-fiction titles.

Your focus will be overseeing print projects ensuring that clear and consistent quality expectations, schedules and budgets are met.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production requirements for all graphic novels and comics projects alongside a small number of fiction and non-fiction titles.
  • Manage individual titles through the production process.
  • Oversee the production of publication of special and limited edition productions.
  • Analyse stock holdings to advise on reprints.
  • Line management of the Sales Operations Assistant.
  • Liaise with UK and international printers and freight companies for handling long and short print deadlines.
  • Liaise with warehouses to ensure product is delivered to correct specifications.
  • Ensure quality control on all titles.
  • Control the production schedules, creating them or checking those produced by others to ensure publications are delivered on time.
  • Work with the project and business teams to agree and capture requirements, to ensure the continued development of the production workflow processes.
  • Source and select suppliers for both the comic, book and magazines production processes, including responsibility for print buying and any future POD process.
  • Attend publishing commissioning meetings and other meetings as required, to give strategic production input.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure appropriate metadata is captured as required for various workflows, and be involved in developing and delivering current and future metadata projects relating to production content.

Qualifications

  • High level knowledge of the book production process.
  • Strong understanding of the print and publishing best practice processes.
  • Impeccable organisational skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Knowledge of XML, In Design and Photoshop.
  • Competently able to clearly communicate ideas and thoughts about your work to colleagues both verbally and in writing.
  • Competently able to solve problems of moderate complexity.
  • Able to manage workload with minimal levels of supervision.
