We are seeking a motivated and seasoned Network Systems Engineer who can showcase exceptional problem‐solving abilities and tackle challenging situations with minimal guidance in a fast‐paced development atmosphere. This hands‐on technical position involves collaborating with the support team to deliver proactive automation and effectively troubleshoot technical issues across our IT environment and multiple locations throughout the UK. The IT team operates out of our riverside headquarters in Oxford, offering a creative and relaxed atmosphere where teamwork drives our success. We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment. We believe in the power of face‐to‐face collaboration and encourage working from our Oxford headquarters. However, we understand that flexibility matters, so we're open to discussing hybrid options based on individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a growing support team across multiple sites, to help direct junior support members as well as take the lead in investigating and resolving higher level issues.
  • Identifying, developing and delivering IT projects to improve existing systems and processes.
  • Maintaining the development of a geographically dispersed WAN and LAN, to ensure an efficient and stable development environment for the studios.
  • Plan, build, configure, network solutions for the Rebellion group of companies.
  • The nature of the role will require some out‐of‐hours work as necessary to minimise downtime for the rest of the business.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking platforms (IOS, NXOS, FTD/FMC, ISE, WLC, AnyConnect/Secure Client).
  • Practical experience with routing and WAN technologies, including OSPF/BGP, NAT and enterprise WAN (e.g. DWDM).
  • Solid understanding of modern network architectures (hub‐and‐spoke, VXLAN EVPN, etc.).
  • Hands‐on experience with network security practices such as segmentation, ACLs and 802.1x.
  • Familiarity with configuring and using monitoring platforms (e.g. PRTG, SolarWinds).
  • Proven professional experience providing end‐user or systems support in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of, and experience supporting, VoIP telephone systems.

It would be advantageous if you have:

  • Prior Systems Administrator experience within the Games or Film industries.
  • Cisco certifications (or other vendor equivalents) and experience with multiple network vendors (e.g. Juniper, Palo Alto, HP Aruba, Ubiquiti).
  • Python skills for network automation and tooling.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and services (Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Configuration and administration experience with FreeBSD, ZFS, FreeNAS or similar storage technologies.
  • Familiarity with virtualisation technologies such as VMWare or XenServer.
  • Experience working in a software development environment, including administering version control and supporting continuous build/integration workflows.
