We are seeking a passionate and driven Environment Artist to help elevate the visuals of an exciting unannounced game. Your role involves creating visually stunning environments that push aesthetic boundaries and engage players. You will produce high-quality assets aligned with technical constraints and artistic vision, playing a key role within the Environment Art team to ensure the project’s quality. This opportunity is based out of our studios in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, offering flexibility, collaboration, and the chance to work with a world-class team. Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning environments considering narrative and visual storytelling, documenting your intentions.
- Create environments collaboratively with Level Design.
- Develop functional assets respecting technical and artistic constraints.
- Track and update progress using designated tools.
- Communicate and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure work aligns with project goals.
- Maintain technical and artistic quality by collaborating with Technical Artists and Senior Artists, making necessary adjustments.
- Implement and incorporate feedback from Leads and Producers.
- Reference design documents to understand environments, objectives, atmospheres, story, and style.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in 3D software such as 3D Studio Max, Maya, or Blender.
- Experience with 3D sculpting tools like Zbrush or Mudbox.
- Knowledge of modelling, high-res sculpting, baking, and shader setup in real-time engines.
- Understanding of PBR material pipeline/Substance.
- Ability to produce high-quality art assets and compelling environments.
- Skill in translating concept art into 3D assets.
- Understanding of composition and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with the video game development process.
