For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley, but Rebellion is more than just games. We have our own film studio, we create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.

We are on the lookout for a Senior Game Designer to join our talented team and contribute to our diverse portfolio of video games, encompassing various genres and styles.

The Rebellion Design team creates and maintains games from concept to release. They work closely with other specialist teams to implement engaging and immersive gameplay using innovative game mechanics.

As a Senior Game Designer, you will be involved in all stages of the game development process, from ideation and prototyping to final execution and polishing. You’ll create design documentation, collaborate with artists and programmers to implement features, and ensure that all elements align with the creative vision of the team. You will also work hands-on with the game setup, including the maintenance of data sets and producing in-game content using visual scripting tools.

This exciting opportunity can be based out of any of our studios in Oxford, Warwick, or Runcorn, offering flexibility, collaboration, and the chance to work with a world-class team! Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain detailed game design documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to iterate on and refine game mechanics.
  • Use in-house development tools to implement gameplay features.
  • Contribute to the creative process with feedback and innovative ideas.
  • Support the project through playtesting and evaluating game systems.
  • Maintain consistent gameplay languages and style across the game’s mechanics.

Minimum Requirements

  • Professional experience as a Game Designer in the video game industry.
  • Strong understanding of game design principles and methodologies.
  • Experience with creating game design documentation and gameplay prototypes.
  • Knowledge of the game development lifecycle and production pipelines.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
