As a Weapon Art Intern, you will have the chance to expand your skills and knowledge in weapon art while being guided by our talented art team. Your role as a Weapon Art Intern is to grow your knowledge and passion for asset creation. With guidance, you will begin to integrate these assets into our projects. You must have an inspiring and exciting hard surface and weapon art portfolio of educational or personal projects.

Responsibilities:
  • With feedback and guidance from art leads; create and iterate on both high and low poly weapon assets.
  • UV Baking/Creation.
  • Texturing via Substance Painter.
  • Begin to learn best practices, production pipelines and workflows.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to build creative assets.
  • Reference game design documents to develop an understanding of the environments, objectives, atmospheres, story, and style of the project.
  • Track and update the progress of day-to-day tasks using JIRA.
  • Begin to develop an understanding of our custom engine and tools.
Qualifications:
  • You are completing a university placement year, are a career switcher or an aspiring weapon artist with minimal Game Development industry experience.
  • You have a hard surface portfolio containing personal or educational projects.
  • You are a self-learner with a passion for game development and asset creation, ideally weapon art.
  • Competency in a 3D software such as Blender.
  • Basic knowledge of 3D sculpting packages such as Zbrush.
  • Basic knowledge of PBR material pipeline and texturing.
  • Ability to translate concept and reference artwork into 3D assets.
  • Ideally have some understanding of how weapon mechanics operate.
  • Have a basic knowledge of animation, and therefore understand the correct way to construct in-game weapons.
