We want you to JOIN THE REBELLION! For 30 years we’ve been independently developing and publishing incredible video games at our multiple studios founded by Jason & Chris Kingsley. Rebellion is more than just games; we have our own film studio, create board games, publish books, and through 2000AD, publish comics and graphic novels such as the amazing Judge Dredd.
We are seeking a Lead Technical Artist to join our dynamic Technical Art team, where you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting, yet-to-be-announced projects. This is your chance to become part of a studio renowned for the Sniper Elite series and fresh from the success of Atomfall, our biggest game launch to date.
You will be leading the development and implementation of innovative solutions that enhance the overall art team. In collaboration with the art, coding, and broader technology teams, you will plan and create technical art features for a variety of projects across our studios. Your work will focus on exciting AAA projects alongside a skilled team that has a solid track record of delivering high-quality products. This role is hands-on and has a significant impact on our games and their development process.
This role is based at our riverside headquarters in Oxford, offering a creative and relaxed atmosphere where teamwork drives our success. We can provide a relocation package, including moving assistance, temporary accommodation, and full support to ensure a smooth transition to your new environment. We believe in the power of face-to-face collaboration and encourage working from our Oxford headquarters. However, we understand that flexibility matters, so we’re open to discussing hybrid options based on individual needs.
Responsibilities- Partner with stakeholders across the departments and projects to maintain and improve Art workflows and practices in line with production requirements.
- Develop high-quality 3D art pipeline tools with a focus on usability and efficiency.
- Provide hands-on support for Artists and Programmers regarding asset performance and validation.
- Review creative processes and identify opportunities for tool improvements.
- Identify project risks regarding art pipelines and performance and collaborate on solutions.
- Solve challenging technical issues in the 3D asset pipeline.
- Guide, inspire and mentor a team of Technical Artists, providing clear feedback, supporting career growth, and fostering a collaborative, creative environment.
- Extensive professional experience in a comparable role having delivered at least one title through a full development cycle.
- Leadership experience guiding teams of Technical Artists, providing mentorship, and setting standards for quality and efficiency.
- Expert proficiency using Python in Art pipeline tools.
- Extensive experience with Maya, Blender or 3DS Max.
- Ability to work on unusually complex problems and provide solutions which are highly creative.
- Experience with modelling processes, hi-res sculpting, baking textures and material shaders setup in real-time render engine is a bonus.
- Knowledge of procedural content creation packages is a bonus.
- Experience with photogrammetry is advantageous.

Our riverside headquarters in Oxford places you a short walk away from the city centre. Oxford offers a rich historical backdrop and esteemed educational institutions, with a unique blend of tradition and modernity, architecture and green spaces. The city’s train station, just a short walk from our studio, offers frequent services to London and direct routes to major cities like Birmingham, Manchester, and Reading.
