Help define the architecture that will shape the future of aerospace engineering. This opportunity gives you the chance to define the framework from the very beginning. We're assembling the founding engineering team behind a next-generation aerospace platform and an integrated sovereign mission system. Combining aircraft development with secure communications and mission operations, this is a rare greenfield programme where the Model-Based Systems Engineering approach will be established from day one.
As a System Architect – MBSE, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating the architectural framework that enables the programme to scale. Working alongside Chief Engineers, you’ll translate system-level decisions into a robust SysML architecture that provides the foundation for engineering teams across the programme. There are two opportunities available—one supporting the aircraft platform and one focused on the sovereign command and control capability.
What you’ll be doing:
- You’ll define the structure, governance and modelling standards that underpin the programme’s MBSE environment, creating Level 1 and Level 2 architecture models that guide engineering teams throughout the development lifecycle.
- Acting as the bridge between systems architecture and model implementation, you’ll ensure the framework remains scalable, consistent and fit for certification.
- Within your first few months, you’ll establish the model architecture framework, develop the operational architecture, initiate the functional decomposition and define the approach for modelling interfaces across complex systems.
What we’re looking for:
- Significant systems engineering experience with responsibility for MBSE architecture on certified aerospace or similarly complex programmes.
- Advanced SysML expertise, including defining model structures, viewpoints and governance rather than simply populating models.
- Experience developing scalable architecture frameworks and supporting multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- The ability to translate complex engineering decisions into practical, well-governed models.
- Ideally, experience with cross-domain architectures, SysML profile customisation and integrated MBSE toolchains.
Why join?
This is an opportunity to influence a programme from its earliest stages, creating the modelling standards and architectural approach that engineers will rely on throughout development and certification. You’ll work alongside experienced technical leaders, solve genuinely complex engineering challenges and leave a lasting impact on a programme being built from the ground up.
If you’re passionate about MBSE, systems architecture and creating engineering frameworks that enable exceptional programmes, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today or contact us for a confidential conversation. We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
