If you are the person who has built configuration management from the ground up—not simply maintained an existing system—then this is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical function on a high-profile aerospace certification programme. Joining at the start of the programme, you'll be responsible for establishing the Engineering Document Management System (EDMS), implementing the configuration management framework, and ensuring engineering data remains controlled, traceable, and audit-ready throughout the product lifecycle.
From engineering baselines and document control to change management and compliance, you'll provide the governance that enables the programme to achieve certification with confidence. This is a highly influential role where you'll work closely with engineering, quality, and programme leadership, chairing the Configuration Control Board, driving change control, and ensuring every engineering artefact is managed to the highest standards. Your work will directly support certification activities and provide the foundation for programme success.
We're looking for someone who has personally delivered configuration management on a certified aerospace programme and understands what it takes to establish robust processes from day one. You'll bring extensive experience deploying and administering an EDMS or PLM system, managing engineering baselines, supporting audit readiness, and leading configuration governance across large volumes of controlled documentation.
To be successful you'll bring:
- 12+ years' aerospace configuration management experience, including ownership of baselines and audit readiness on a certified programme.
- Hands-on experience implementing and administering an EDMS or PLM system.
- A strong understanding of aerospace quality management systems and certification requirements.
- Experience leading Configuration Control Boards supporting programmes with 500+ controlled documents.
- A proven track record of establishing configuration management processes from the ground up.
- Experience integrating PLM platforms with CAD and MBSE toolchains or supporting certification authority audits would be an advantage.
If you're ready to take ownership of configuration management from day one and make a lasting impact on a programme where quality and control are fundamental to success, we'd love to hear from you.
We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
