Principal Certification Engineer – Cybersecurity (eVTOL)
Shape the future of aviation. Secure the next generation of electric flight. We're developing a pioneering eVTOL aircraft that will redefine urban air mobility, and we're looking for an experienced Principal Certification Engineer – Cybersecurity to lead one of the most critical aspects of our certification journey. This is a rare opportunity to join at an early stage and become the technical authority for airworthiness cybersecurity. You'll have the autonomy to build the security certification framework from the ground up, work directly with international aviation authorities, and influence the design of a revolutionary aircraft from concept through to Type Certification.
If you're passionate about solving complex certification challenges, enjoy working hands-on, and want the opportunity to build and lead a cybersecurity function as the business grows, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- You'll own the end-to-end airworthiness security certification strategy, leading the development and execution of the Airworthiness Security Process and Plan for Security Aspects of Certification (PSecAC).
- Working closely with engineering teams and regulators, you'll ensure cybersecurity is fully integrated into the aircraft design while driving compliance with GCAA, EASA and FAA certification requirements.
- You'll lead security risk assessments, define security requirements, oversee verification activities, and compile the certification evidence needed to demonstrate compliance with DO-326A, DO-356A, DO-355 and associated guidance.
- Your expertise will directly influence the safety, security and certification success of a first-of-its-kind aircraft.
- Beyond the technical work, you'll establish standards, processes and best practices that will become the foundation of our cybersecurity capability.
- As the organisation grows, you'll mentor engineers, help recruit the team and naturally evolve into the leader of the aircraft cybersecurity function.
What we're looking for
- We're looking for an experienced aviation cybersecurity professional who combines deep technical expertise with the ambition to build something lasting.
- You'll have significant experience delivering airworthiness security certification on civil aircraft programmes and be comfortable working directly with certification authorities.
- You'll understand the wider certification and development assurance landscape, including DO-326A, DO-356A, DO-355, ARP4754B, ARP4761A, DO-178C and DO-254, and have practical experience of secure architectures, security risk assessment and verification.
- Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys taking ownership, influencing multidisciplinary teams and solving challenging technical problems while helping others develop along the way.
Why join us?
This isn't simply another certification role - it's an opportunity to define how cybersecurity is implemented and certified on a next-generation aircraft. You'll enjoy genuine technical ownership, direct engagement with global regulators, the chance to influence aircraft architecture from the outset, and a clear pathway into leadership as you build and grow the cybersecurity function.
If you're excited by pioneering technology, meaningful responsibility and the opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the future of aviation, we'd love to hear from you. We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
