If you're the engineer who enjoys turning complex avionics architectures into certifiable flight control systems, this is an opportunity to play a key role in the development of an innovative aerospace programme.
As the Principal Avionics & Flight Control Systems Engineer, you'll take the architecture defined by the Chief Engineer and develop the detailed flight control system that brings it to life. You'll be responsible for designing the triple-redundant flight control computer architecture, defining voting and monitoring logic, developing flight control modes and state transitions, and producing the interface documentation that enables seamless system integration.
This is a highly technical, hands-on role where you'll work at the centre of avionics, software and systems engineering. You'll also lead the creation of the DO-178C DAL A planning artefacts that form the foundation of the flight control software certification programme, ensuring the evidence produced is suitable for acceptance by civil aviation authorities.
We're looking for someone who has personally delivered detailed flight control system designs on certified aerospace programmes and understands what is required to achieve successful certification. You'll be comfortable working across multidisciplinary teams, solving complex engineering challenges, and producing the technical documentation that underpins safe and reliable flight control systems.
You'll bring:
- 12+ years' experience in avionics or flight control systems engineering.
- Proven responsibility for DO-178C DAL A software certification evidence on at least one certified aircraft programme.
- Experience designing triple-redundant (or higher) fly-by-wire flight control computer architectures, including voting logic, monitoring and cross-channel communication.
- Expertise in developing flight control states, modes and transition logic for both normal and degraded operating conditions.
- Experience authoring Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and DO-178C planning documents, including PSAC, SDP and SVP.
- Experience with eVTOL, tiltrotor or over-actuated flight control systems, leading DO-178C DAL A certification activities, or applying ARP4754A/ARP4754B on certified programmes would be highly beneficial.
In return, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to a pioneering aerospace programme in Dubai, where your expertise will have a direct impact on the aircraft's journey to certification. We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background.
