Role: Desktop Support Analyst Location: Nottinghamshire Working Arrangement: Hybrid Salary: Up to £34,000 You’ve done the password resets and basic troubleshooting. Now you’re looking for an IT support role where you can get your hands on more. We’re looking for a Desktop Support Analyst to join an established IT team, providing both onsite and remote support across a multi-site environment. This is still a user-facing support role, but it goes further than a typical first-line position. You’ll troubleshoot desktop and laptop issues, configure and deploy hardware and software, manage tickets and help users get the most out of their technology. Microsoft Defender is a key part of the role. You’ll need hands-on experience using Defender to identify, investigate and remediate vulnerabilities and security issues across the desktop estate. You’ll also work with Microsoft 365, Azure Entra ID, Endpoint Manager and Intune, managing user access and devices across the business. Hands-on Intune experience, particularly application packaging and deployment, would be a big advantage. There’s a wider security element too. You’ll help maintain IT security standards, respond to incidents and support the team in identifying and understanding new and current attack vectors. Alongside the day-to-day support, you’ll have the opportunity to get involved in small and medium-sized IT projects across the network infrastructure and desktop estate. You’ll also test new hardware and software, work with third-party suppliers and provide informal training to users when new systems are introduced. You’ll need solid experience troubleshooting Windows desktops and laptops, Office 365, software, hardware and basic network connectivity. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who has practical Microsoft Defender experience and is comfortable getting hands-on with vulnerability remediation rather than simply escalating security issues elsewhere. You don’t need to know everything, but you should be comfortable investigating problems yourself, managing your own workload and knowing when something needs to be escalated. You’ll also need to enjoy working with people and be able to explain technical problems without making them sound more complicated than they need to be. If you’ve built a good foundation in IT support and are ready for a role that gives you more responsibility across Microsoft Defender, Intune, device management, security and IT projects, please apply now or get in touch to find out more. We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect, regardless of background. All applicants are screened by an experienced, human recruiter – not AI
