Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Procurement and Inventory Manager. The ideal candidate will have a Procurement, Buying and/or Merchandising background with an understanding of commercial purchasing strategy and supplier management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a Senior Merchandiser and Design & Product Development Teams. Overall, the role will provide strong commercial, strategic purchasing support to the business and overall oversee the operational side of the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management
    • Managing the timely and accurate delivery of inventory from suppliers to ourselves.
    • Arranging or booking the primary transport of inventory shipments, liaising proactively with our Freight Forwarder and couriers to rectify issues.
    • To ensure the timely replenishment and appropriate stock availability of continuation ranges.
    • Working with Merchandising and the Founder on strategic supplier replenishment as well as independently managing other supplier replenishment to budget.
    • Minimise stock shortages, overstock situations and obsolete inventory.
    • Prepare reports for management and stakeholders such as stock level reports, purchasing budget updates and supplier quality, time and cost analysis.
    • Goods receipt of inventory in a timely manner; ensuring accurate inventory records in inventory management system.
    • Working with the Operations team to investigate any issues.
    • Ad-hoc support sourcing and procuring special orders for VIP clients.
  • Negotiation & Contracting
    • Evaluate and negotiate with suppliers on re-orders and range expansion/growth.
    • Ensuring the completion and organised record of supplier diligence documents and contracts such as NDAs, supplier audit reports and so forth.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Proactively co-ordinate with the e-commerce and marketing teams to ensure timely receipt of inventory ahead of launches and other key promotional events.
    • Leading on communication with the operational and warehouse teams to support the business being operationally efficient, organised and customer focused.
    • Proactive communication with finance to resolve any goods receipt issues as well as timely and accurate checking in of goods to facilitate finance and sales.
    • Working collaboratively with the Product Development and Design team to support the businesses operational efficiency.
  • Supplier Management, Cost & Risk Management
    • Maintain strong supplier relationships and resolve any supply chain or delivery issues in a collaborative, solutions focused manner.
    • Identifying, mitigating and monitoring risks within the supplier base.
    • Supplier score card maintenance, monitoring supplier performance for delivery and quality.
    • Production planning of inventory.
    • Identifying and actioning cost saving opportunities such as shipment consolidation, packaging review and so forth.
    • Supporting category strategies to optimise cost and supply chain efficiency.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years in a procurement or purchasing role.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in a business, supply chain or management degree, or CIPS.
  • Experience working in a luxury DTC brand, ideally eCommerce.
  • Experience working in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.
