GENERAL DUTIES
Purpose of job: To be an effective and reflective classroom teacher able to demonstrate and share good practice. To plan and prepare lessons with regard to individual need.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Model excellent practice and provide leadership in curriculum areas.
- Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations.
- Plan and deliver highly creative, engaging and adaptive lessons to ensure all pupils can access learning and feel included.
- Ensure lessons are inclusive by adapting content, resources, scaffolds and expectations.
- Plan opportunities and experiences to develop the social, emotional and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.
- Maintain good order and discipline among pupils.
- Uphold equal opportunities and inclusion to meet diverse needs.
- Monitor teaching, learning and assessment.
- Lead staff meetings and INSET where appropriate.
- Work with the SENCO and external partners.
- Build strong staff relationships and work as part of a team.
- Prepare high quality displays, assemblies and parent meetings.
- Plan trips for each half term.
- Engage in CPD and stay informed on best practice.
- Build strong partnerships with parents.
- Write annual reports.
