GENERAL DUTIES

Purpose of job: To be an effective and reflective classroom teacher able to demonstrate and share good practice. To plan and prepare lessons with regard to individual need.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Model excellent practice and provide leadership in curriculum areas.
  • Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenge and high expectations.
  • Plan and deliver highly creative, engaging and adaptive lessons to ensure all pupils can access learning and feel included.
  • Ensure lessons are inclusive by adapting content, resources, scaffolds and expectations.
  • Plan opportunities and experiences to develop the social, emotional and cultural aspects of pupils’ learning.
  • Maintain good order and discipline among pupils.
  • Uphold equal opportunities and inclusion to meet diverse needs.
  • Monitor teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Lead staff meetings and INSET where appropriate.
  • Work with the SENCO and external partners.
  • Build strong staff relationships and work as part of a team.
  • Prepare high quality displays, assemblies and parent meetings.
  • Plan trips for each half term.
  • Engage in CPD and stay informed on best practice.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents.
  • Write annual reports.
