Lecturer in Maths
Status: Permanent, 2x 37 hours and 1x 7.4 hours per week; other part‑time options are available.

About the role
Reaseheath College is seeking three skilled and committed Lecturers in Maths to join our English and Maths team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to contribute meaningfully to learner progress.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching GCSE Mathematics, with the potential to deliver Functional Skills Maths and Core Maths. You will plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons that support student progress, develop essential skills, and align with our curriculum goals.
As a valued member of our department, you will join a supportive team committed to high standards. You will also be expected to demonstrate PRIDE (People, Responsibility, Integrity, Diversity, Excellence) in all aspects of your role.
Principles of Effective Delivery
- Housekeeping – establishing a purposeful, organised learning environment
- Reviewing – activating and connecting prior knowledge through retrieval
- New Concepts & Modelling – presenting content clearly and modelling expert thinking
- Practice – creating opportunities for learners to embed and refine skills
- Assessment & Feedback – using assessment to inform responsive teaching
Key responsibilities
- Deliver consistently high-quality teaching sessions in Maths (GCSE and Functional Skills).
- Provide course management and pastoral support to student groups.
- Develop curriculum content and resources to meet learner needs.
- Assess and support students using a range of methods to maximise achievement.
- Engage with quality assurance processes and contribute to continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will
- A degree or relevant professional qualification.
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent).
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Recent experience in FE and a strong track record of learner success.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective teaching.
