Overview
Reaseheath College is a forward thinking and dynamic College providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students a year.
The Motor Vehicle Instructor will be responsible for planning and delivering practical, industry-relevant training to students across a range of programmes and ability levels. Drawing upon current vocational knowledge and experience, the postholder will provide clear instruction, guidance and support to help learners build their practical competence, confidence and understanding of professional working practices. The role will also contribute to student assessment and record-keeping, while maintaining a safe and well-organised learning environment through effective supervision and the appropriate use and maintenance of tools, equipment, consumables and PPE.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging, practical motor vehicle training sessions that develop students' technical skills, confidence and industry knowledge.
- Supervise students during workshop-based activities, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety and safe working practices are maintained at all times.
- Support, guide and motivate learners to achieve their potential, helping them develop the skills and behaviours required by the automotive industry.
- Assist with student assessments and maintain accurate records, registers and progress tracking in line with College requirements.
- Maintain workshop facilities, tools, equipment and PPE, ensuring resources are safe, fit for purpose and aligned with industry standards
The successful candidate will:
- A Level 3 qualification in Motor Vehicle or a related subject area.
- Relevant industry experience and strong technical knowledge within the motor vehicle sector.
- The ability to motivate, engage and support students in developing practical skills and confidence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues and industry partners.
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety within a practical workshop environment

As a College, we actively encourage applications from industry professionals without a teaching qualification, as well as those from qualified teachers. Reaseheath offers a full CPD programme with access to funded qualifications alongside hands on support whilst completing Further Education Training. Industry professionals joining the College in an academic role, will complete their Further Education Training whilst in post.
