We’re looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Student Recruitment and Outreach Officer to join our team to lead the way in promoting higher education courses. In this role, you will play a crucial part in creating a pipeline of future undergraduates working closely with schools, colleges, recruitment events and outreach partners to ensure these opportunities are accessible to all. This role will require attendance at events locally, regionally and nationally.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maximise Student Recruitment and Opportunities
  • Handle queries from students, parents, and educators about our Higher Education courses.
  • Work closely with the wider College team to promote our HE programmes to our internal students and ensure that every student is aware of the opportunities available.
  • Relationship Building
  • Proactively develop and nurture relationships with key schools with sixth forms, colleges, teachers, careers advisers, mature students and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Your work will align with our Schools Engagement and Marketing strategies to support access to apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Event Coordination and Delivery
  • Plan, coordinate, deliver and attend engaging outreach events and activities, both on-campus and in schools/off-campus locations to promote higher education courses.
  • Focus on working with groups currently under-represented in higher education to ensure everyone has the chance to succeed.
  • Monitor and track event attendees through to enrolment.
  • Oversee Keep warm strategy to maximise conversion rates.

The successful candidate would ideally have the following:

  • A background in student recruitment, youth engagement, education, or outreach.
  • Experience working with young people and adults seeking higher education courses.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Previous experience of working in a college or Higher Education institution.
  • Experience in organising and delivering events or activities aimed at young people would be desirable.
  • A proactive and creative approach to problem-solving and engagement.
  • Passionate about promoting equal access to education and career opportunities.

As a College, we actively encourage applications from industry professionals without a teaching qualification, as well as those from qualified teachers. Reaseheath offers a full CPD programme with access to funded qualifications alongside hands on support whilst completing Further Education Training. Industry professionals joining the College in an academic role, will complete their Further Education Training whilst in post.

Please note this role constitutes ‘regulated activity’ as defined by the Protection of Freedom Act 2012. The successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check with barred list information prior to starting employment. You must also have the right to work in the UK and will be required to provide evidence to support this. In addition, online checks will be carried out during the recruitment process.
