About the role
Join the Apprenticeship team to coach and mentor bricklaying apprentices through their training programme. Build effective relationships with employers, supervise apprentices in the workplace, and attend college for training. Support apprentices in the workplace through site visits and by gathering evidence from construction sites. Experience as a bricklayer is required, with an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver and assess apprenticeship training, coaching learners to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to succeed.
- Conduct initial assessments, skills scans, and inductions for apprentices and employers.
- Support employers to maximise apprenticeship opportunities and identify added value qualifications.
- Carry out formal progress reviews every 10β12 weeks, creating action plans for those needing additional support.
- Travel as required for delivery and reviews; mileage and accommodation costs are covered, with a vehicle provided for substantial travel.
The successful candidate will
- Substantial industry experience in the relevant occupational area
- Relevant Level 3 or above qualification in the occupational area or equivalent
- Maths and English to at least Level 2 (Old Grade C or above, or New grades 4 or above)
- Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) or willingness to achieve within a specified timescale
- Fast learner with good interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to the College environment
