We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to join our team of dedicated educators. The ideal candidate will have both industry experience and a Level 3 trade qualification, providing our students with practical insights and theoretical knowledge essential for success in the field. A teaching qualification is not essential, and the successful candidate will be supported to gain these qualifications alongside their employment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging and innovative teaching materials for Carpentry and Joinery courses.
  • Conduct practical demonstrations and workshops to enhance students' hands-on skills.
  • Provide individualised support and guidance to students to foster their learning and development.
  • Assess student progress through various methods, including assignments, exams, and practical assessments.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continually review and improve the curriculum to meet industry standards and trends.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
  • Recognised Teaching Qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
  • Substantial industry experience in carpentry and joinery, with a strong understanding of current practices and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • A Level 3 trade qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
