We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Carpentry and Joinery Lecturer to join our team of dedicated educators. The ideal candidate will have both industry experience and a Level 3 trade qualification, providing our students with practical insights and theoretical knowledge essential for success in the field. A teaching qualification is not essential, and the successful candidate will be supported to gain these qualifications alongside their employment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging and innovative teaching materials for Carpentry and Joinery courses.
- Conduct practical demonstrations and workshops to enhance students' hands-on skills.
- Provide individualised support and guidance to students to foster their learning and development.
- Assess student progress through various methods, including assignments, exams, and practical assessments.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continually review and improve the curriculum to meet industry standards and trends.
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to student success.
Qualifications
- Level 2 Maths & English or equivalent.
- Recognised Teaching Qualification (or be willing to work towards one).
- Substantial industry experience in carpentry and joinery, with a strong understanding of current practices and techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to upholding high standards of professionalism and integrity.
- A Level 3 trade qualification in Carpentry and Joinery.
