The Human Resources team plays a vital role in supporting staff across the College, delivering a responsive, high-quality HR service that enables colleagues to focus on providing outstanding learning experiences. The team works closely with managers and employees to support recruitment, development, wellbeing and employee relations across a diverse workforce.

About the role

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for HR telephone calls, emails and visitors, providing a professional and helpful service.
  • Co-ordinate end-to-end recruitment administration for all College vacancies, including advertising, shortlisting support, assessment centres and reporting.
  • Provide advice and guidance to line managers on recruitment processes, policies and assessment options.
  • Manage the full new starter process, including issuing contracts, undertaking pre-employment checks (DBS and references), and ensuring accurate data entry on the HR system.
  • Prepare accurate and timely payroll information in line with monthly deadlines and liaise with colleagues to ensure smooth payroll processing.
  • Manage the HR inbox and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support staff induction, learning and development activities, staff development days and other College wide events.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including raising purchase orders and supporting HR initiatives and events.
  • Supporting with Payroll Administration.
  • Provide admin and diary planning support, as and when required, for the Exec Director of People.
