Overview

Join a small team in the Library to deliver, develop and promote the service. We provide print and e-resources, support and study spaces to FE & HE students and staff.
About the role
Key responsibilities:
- Support the Head Librarian deliver, develop and promote an excellent customer-focused, cost effective and efficient library service.
- Lead on the provision of in-person and online support; identify staff training needs and ensure an appropriate learning environment is maintained.
- Contribute to designing and delivering research skills sessions to all levels, and follow up with 1:1 sessions if required with students.
- Contribute to the acquisition and management of stock and lead on the maintenance and development of the library catalogue.
- Assist the Head Librarian to collect, collate, monitor and share data and statistics on library engagement.
- Provide a first-line response to problems with accessing e-resources, escalating if necessary to ensure constant and seamless access on and off-site for staff & students.
The successful candidate will need:
- Level 2 Maths and English Grade 4 (GCSE Grade C) or equivalent.
- An accredited library and information qualification and some post-qualification experience.
- Professional registration of CILIP (MCLIP or ACLIP) is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of cataloguing and classification.
- Previous successful experience of working in a post 16 library environment.
- Strong internet and IT skills.
