Overview

Reaseheath College is a forward-thinking and dynamic college providing an excellent educational experience to over 4,500 students each year. Our Apprenticeship team plays a vital role in supporting apprentices to develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed for successful careers within Teaching and Learning.

About the role

The Teaching and Learning skills coach works closely with employers to deliver high-quality apprenticeship training, ensuring apprentices gain both knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet the employer and sector needs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver training in line with the Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship Standard and approved college procedures.
  • Lead and support apprentices through a range of practical activities that enhance learning and develop vocational competence.
  • Deliver high-quality training, coaching, mentoring, and assessment both within college and through workplace visits to support apprentice progress and evidence gathering.
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate evidence-informed teaching, adapting approaches and resources to meet the needs of different learners.
  • Conduct apprentice recruitment activities, inductions, initial assessments, Apprentice Skills Scans, and calculations of prior learning.
  • Monitor and review apprentice progress through regular formal reviews, action planning, and use of electronic portfolio systems to track achievement and 20% off-the-job training requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with employers to maximise apprenticeship development opportunities and support apprentice achievement.
  • Embed Functional Skills, British Values, Prevent Duty, safeguarding, and health and safety within programme delivery.
  • Maintain accurate learner records and ensure all documentation meets DfE, Ofsted, EPAO, and internal compliance requirements.
  • Participate in standardisation, internal quality assurance activities, team meetings, self-assessment, and continuous professional development.
  • Support college promotional activities including open days, employer engagement events, and marketing activities where required.
