What Does a Construction Engineer Do?

Your Three-Year Apprenticeship Journey:
- Year 1: Begin with foundational tasks such as machinery inspections, guided by your line manager and mentor. You’ll spend 16 weeks in total at College in England or Scotland in up to 4 week block release sessions, with travel and accommodation expenses covered.
- Year 2: Expand your skills by diagnosing faults and performing repairs and maintenance on plant machinery. Another 10-week stint at college awaits in Year 2.
- Year 3: Take on increased responsibilities, including advising on machinery repairs for customers and diagnosing complex faults. Again, you’ll spend 10 weeks at college, away from home.
Unlock Your Career Potential:
We offer a competitive starting salary of £21,000 in the first year, increasing to approximately £27,000 upon qualification. You’ll receive on-the-job training alongside a college education leading to a nationally recognised "Construction Equipment Level 3" qualification. Successful completion of the apprenticeship scheme also guarantees a permanent position at Vp if still employed with Vp at the end of your Apprenticeship.
