About the Opportunity
An excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial or residential Building Manager, or a Facilities or Property Manager with transferable experience, to take responsibility for the day–to–day operation of a prominent multi–tenanted office building in Basingstoke.
Working client–side on behalf of the building owner, you'll be the visible on–site presence, taking ownership of building operations, maintenance, contractor coordination, compliance and the day–to–day experience of occupiers.
You'll work closely with the managing agent and a Regional Facilities Manager while having the autonomy to manage activity on site, identify issues and ensure they are followed through to resolution.

- Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (1 hour lunch)

What You'll Do
- Take ownership of the day–to–day operational management and presentation of the building
- Be a visible and approachable point of contact for occupiers, contractors and other stakeholders
- Coordinate maintenance activity, raise and follow through works and ensure issues are resolved effectively
- Manage contractors attending site, monitoring work, standards and safe working practices
- Carry out regular building inspections, identifying maintenance, repair, presentation and compliance requirements
- Maintain accurate building, statutory testing and compliance records
- Support Health & Safety requirements and ensure relevant systems and documentation remain up to date
- Ensure common areas and facilities are clean, safe and professionally presented
- Build positive relationships with occupiers, responding to queries and keeping them informed
- Liaise with the appointed agent around office viewings and the presentation of vacant space
- Work closely with the wider Property and Facilities Management team, escalating significant issues where appropriate
What You'll Bring
- Previous experience in Building Management, Facilities Management or a similar property–related role
- Practical knowledge of building maintenance and the confidence to identify issues and know when specialist input is required
- Experience coordinating contractors and maintenance works
- A good understanding of Health & Safety and building compliance
- Confidence using CAFM or other property, facilities or safety management systems, with CAFM experience preferred
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and online systems
- Excellent communication and relationship–building skills with occupiers, contractors and stakeholders
- A proactive, organised and practical approach, with the ability to work independently and see issues through to completion
- A professional, approachable and customer–focused manner
- IOSH or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification would be advantageous
