Overview

Senior Children’s Support Worker for The Lighthouse (Raynes Park)

£31,000 or £15.85 per hour

Full time: 5 Days per week including working on weekends - 37.5 hours per week

The home is rated as Outstanding by Ofsted. The Lighthouse Children's Home provides care for children with autism and learning disabilities and is based in Raynes Park, SW London. Built on a culture of respect and fun, we are a family-run business now looking to welcome some fresh faces to our tight-knit team.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Relevant experience working in a supportive role
  • Willing to undertake personal care
  • Confident working with challenging behaviour
  • A genuine interest in childcare
  • 1 year experience as a Senior/Team Leader - duties including shift leading, medication, staff supervision

Desirable

  • Level 3 Residential Childcare Diploma
  • Experience in specialist care for children with autism, learning disabilities, or complex backgrounds

Responsibilities

  • Supporting with team leadership
  • Carrying out risk assessments and updating care plans
  • Administering medication
  • Providing quality and consistent care to help meet social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Supporting young people to do their favourite things and to try new activities
  • Promoting child safety and welfare and working with relevant stakeholders to do the same
