IT Support Engineer

As an IT Support Engineer, you\’ll provide responsive and knowledgeable technical support to clients, working with internal teams and client stakeholders to resolve issues efficiently. This role involves both remote and on-site support.

Key Responsibilities

You\’ll deliver high-quality technical support across a wide range of systems, including:

  • Providing remote and on-site support for various technologies.
  • Troubleshooting hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Deploying and maintaining Windows servers, desktops, and networking equipment.
  • Setting up and managing VPNs (client-based and site-to-site IPSec).
  • Administering Microsoft 365 environments (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams).
  • Performing system monitoring, maintenance, patching, and security checks.
  • Assisting with infrastructure and cloud projects.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation.
  • Guiding team members and liaising with clients.

Technical Responsibilities

Solid experience is required in:

  • Microsoft Infrastructure: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, IIS, RDS.
  • Networking: VLANs, routing, switching, firewall rules.
  • VPN Technologies: Remote client and site-to-site IPSec VPNs.
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server (2016-2022) and Windows (10-11).
  • Cloud: Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Physical and virtual environments.
  • Security: Experience with Endpoint security tools (SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, ESET) and Fortinet products is a strong advantage.
  • MSP Tools: Experience with RMM/PSA tools (NinjaOne, ConnectWise, Halo PSA, Autotask) is highly desirable.

Qualifications

We\’re looking for someone with:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally in an MSP.
  • Proven track record in diagnosing complex IT issues.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for learning, problem-solving, and client service.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Relevant vendor certifications (Microsoft, Fortinet, Dell) are desirable.
  • Bachelor\’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
