A well-backed, pre-launch SaaS company is building the platform that replaces spreadsheets as the way product-based businesses plan, forecast, and make decisions. Think a live, connected model of an entire business - P&L, inventory, demand, margins, all updating in real time as the business changes.
The engineering team is small, senior, and building something genuinely hard: a calculation engine that keeps every number consistent across an entire organisation, with AI on the roadmap. The infrastructure is being built right now, from the ground up, and they need someone to own it. This is a rare chance to shape the cloud and platform foundations of a product at the moment it matters most - before launch, while the architecture decisions still count.
What You'll Do
- Design and build Kubernetes infrastructure on AWS from early-stage architecture
- Own infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines
- Work closely with a Rust-heavy backend team, understanding and integrating with the codebase, not just operating it
- Establish observability practices across the platform (metrics, logging, tracing, alerting)
- Contribute to decisions around self-hosting LLMs as AI becomes part of the product
- Document systems and share knowledge proactively. You’ll be the most specialised engineer on the team and they want the whole team to grow with you
What We're Looking For
- Kubernetes in production (EKS or self-managed)
- Terraform or equivalent IaC
- Observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry or similar)
- Rust - You don’t need to be an expert, but enough working knowledge to read the codebase and understand what’s happening
Nice to Have
- Early-stage startup experience
- CI/CD pipeline ownership (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or similar)
- Any exposure to LLM infrastructure or AI/ML platform work
Experience Level
We’re open to strong mid-level engineers as well as senior candidates. If you’ve got solid AWS and Kubernetes foundations, care about building things properly, and want real ownership, we want to hear from you. Depth matters more than years on a CV.
Benefits
- A priority focus on Work-Life Balance (no expectation of working weekends or long hours - we’re not pushing last-minute deadlines and overworking, we’re hiring with strategy and purpose)
- Salary up to £95k
- 30 days holiday + local national holidays
