This is an excellent opportunity for a Private Client Solicitor to join a respected and growing team in Greater Manchester, handling a broad mix of wills, probate and estate planning work for individuals, families and business owners across the region. Based primarily from the Bury office, you’ll manage a varied caseload including wills, trusts, LPAs, estate administration and inheritance tax planning, with exposure to more complex matters involving discretionary trusts, family businesses and agricultural estates.

You’ll also advise bereaved families through probate and estate administration matters, offering practical, empathetic guidance at what can often be a difficult time. The role offers a strong balance of autonomy and support. You’ll be trusted to run your own caseload while working closely with an experienced and collaborative team that values knowledge-sharing, development and long-term progression.

There’s also scope to get involved in networking, business development and community engagement as you establish yourself within the wider firm. The culture is professional but grounded, with a strong emphasis on client relationships, inclusivity and continuous development. Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor with 4+ years’ PQE in private client law
  • Experience handling wills, probate, LPAs and estate administration matters independently
  • Strong technical knowledge across trusts and estate planning
  • Confident drafting complex wills and trust documentation
  • Strong client care and communication skills, particularly with vulnerable or bereaved clients
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines effectively
  • Collaborative, team-oriented and commercially aware
  • Full clean driving licence
  • Experience advising on inheritance tax planning and estate structuring (Desired)
  • STEP qualification or working towards STEP (Desired)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing a varied private client caseload from instruction through to completion
  • Drafting wills, trusts and LPAs
  • Advising on probate and estate administration matters
  • Supporting clients with inheritance tax and succession planning
  • Handling trust administration and deeds of variation
  • Preparing probate applications and administering estates
  • Liaising with clients, accountants, financial advisers and third parties
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards
  • Supporting networking and business development initiatives where appropriate
