Are you a confident private client solicitor looking for autonomy, responsibility, and the chance to shape your own office within a respected Yorkshire firm?

This is a unique opportunity for a Senior Associate–level solicitor or existing Partner to take ownership of the York private client presence at a long-established firm with a strong regional footprint.

You’ll inherit a busy caseload of wills, LPAs, trusts, and complex estate work, and have the space and support to rebuild the office around you.

Who we’re looking for

  • 6+ PQE Solicitor with strong private client experience
  • Confident in managing a full caseload independently
  • Skilled in wills, LPAs, trusts, and pre-/post-death matters
  • Strong technical knowledge and proactive approach
  • Happy to work autonomously but knows when to reach out
  • Experience working with HNW clients is helpful but not essential
  • Willing to take on a leadership role and help shape a growing office

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing an existing private client caseload across wills, trusts, probate, and LPAs
  • Rebuilding and leading the firm’s presence in York
  • Collaborating with colleagues in Leeds and Sheffield for support
  • Helping to mentor junior lawyers in future as the office expands
  • Playing a key role in long-term business development and growth strategy

Salary & Benefits

  • £60,000–£75,000+ depending on experience
  • Potential for Partnership if suitable
  • 2 days WFH as standard (compressed hours / 4-day week considered)
