This is an exciting opportunity for a Private Family Partner to be part of a highly respected, boutique family law practice known for its strong Legal 500 rankings, modern approach and outstanding work–life balance. You’ll play a key role in building its presence in a vibrant new market.
You’ll join a firm where people stay for years, where flexibility is built into the culture, and where commercially-minded family lawyers thrive without the pressure of BD, networking or court advocacy.
Who we’re looking for:
- 4 PQE up to Partner level
- Able to run your own private family caseload
- Commercially minded with strong billing habits
- Positive, proactive and open-minded
- Enjoys flexibility and remote work
- Strong communicator, confident with client conversations
- Legal 500 experience (desired but not essential)
- Full-time or part-time (minimum 3 days per week)
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage a caseload of private family law matters
- Deliver commercially aware, client-centred advice
- Build strong relationships and contribute to establishing the brand locally
- Maintain accurate time recording and billing
- Work within a national family team across Manchester, London and Leeds
- Focus solely on fee earning — no BD, no advocacy
- Participate in team video calls and receive remote support and mentoring
Salary & Benefits:
- £60,000–£90,000 depending on experience
- 1 day per week in the Birmingham office (or once a fortnight/month depending on distance)
- Option to work 4 days and get paid for 5
- 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays (higher allowances possible depending on performance)
- One-week Christmas shutdown
