Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or equivalent level of experience
  • NQ–5 PQE
  • Experience advising on health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection
  • Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Previous experience working under a legal aid contract
  • Strong IT and case management system skills

What you’ll be doing:

  • Advising and representing clients in Court of Protection health and welfare proceedings
  • Visiting clients in care settings and delivering clear, empathetic legal advice
  • Drafting court applications and managing files with ongoing risk assessment
  • Attending and representing at hearings
  • Ensuring cases meet Legal Aid Agency and Law Society standards
  • Managing files efficiently to meet WIP and billing targets
  • Delegating to and supervising junior team members
  • Supporting business development and marketing of the department’s work
