Who we’re looking for:
- Qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive, or equivalent level of experience
- NQ–5 PQE
- Experience advising on health and welfare proceedings in the Court of Protection
- Familiarity with the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Previous experience working under a legal aid contract
- Strong IT and case management system skills
What you’ll be doing:
- Advising and representing clients in Court of Protection health and welfare proceedings
- Visiting clients in care settings and delivering clear, empathetic legal advice
- Drafting court applications and managing files with ongoing risk assessment
- Attending and representing at hearings
- Ensuring cases meet Legal Aid Agency and Law Society standards
- Managing files efficiently to meet WIP and billing targets
- Delegating to and supervising junior team members
- Supporting business development and marketing of the department’s work
