If you’re looking for a Family role where you can do more than simply inherit a caseload, this could be exactly what you’re looking for. This is an opportunity to join a people-first, Legal 500-recognised firm at an exciting stage of growth. You’ll work alongside an experienced Senior Associate, taking over an established caseload while helping to grow the firm’s Family offering across Liverpool and beyond.
Unlike larger firms where progression can feel uncertain, here your career path is built around your ambitions. Whether you want to become a recognised specialist, develop into leadership or help build the department, you’ll receive the support, mentoring and opportunities to get there. The work is varied and high quality, with a strong flow of instructions from long-standing business owner clients and existing relationships, giving you exposure to complex financial remedy matters alongside divorce, private children work and other privately funded family cases.
Who we’re looking for:
- Family Solicitor with 2–3+ PQE and strong private family law experience
- Confident managing your own caseload with minimal supervision
- Experience handling divorce, financial remedy and private children matters
- Commercial or HNW divorce experience (desirable)
- Interested in business development and networking
- Friendly, ambitious and approachable, with no ego
- Someone who enjoys being part of a collaborative team and wants to help grow a department
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing your own private family caseload from day one
- Taking over an existing caseload following a planned departure
- Advising clients on divorce, financial remedy, private children and related family matters
- Working closely with the Senior Associate on more complex cases
- Building relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Getting involved in networking, marketing and business development activities
- Supporting the future growth of the Liverpool Family team, with opportunities to mentor junior colleagues as the department expands
Salary & benefits:
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 from home after probation)
- Consideration for a four-day week
- 21 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
- Two-week Christmas shutdown without using annual leave
- Holiday purchase scheme (buy up to five additional days)
- MediCash health cash plan
- Flexible holiday booking in hourly increments for appointments and personal commitments
- Salary sacrifice pension
- Structured progression with tailored development plans
- Support to specialise in your chosen area of family law
- Friendly, open-plan office where everyone is recognised and valued
This is a rare opportunity to join a firm where you’ll never feel like just another number. You’ll work closely with an experienced Senior Associate, inherit quality work from day one and have the chance to help shape the future of a growing Family department, all within a relaxed, supportive culture that genuinely invests in its people.
