The role is open to Children Solicitors looking to run their own caseload, with structured development and clear progression pathways. The team deals with a mix of private and public children matters, with a strong legal aid practice and nationwide casework. Advocacy is encouraged where appropriate, and administrative burden is kept deliberately low so fee earners can focus on the work that matters.
Who we’re looking for:
- Children Solicitor with experience in private and/or public children law
- Able to run a caseload independently with minimal hand-holding
- Comfortable working with legal aid matters
- Compassionate, emotionally intelligent and resilient
- Comfortable dealing with sensitive matters, including domestic abuse
- Progressive, modern and client-focused
- Advocacy experience (Desired)
- Panel membership (Desired)
- Open to supporting junior staff in time (Desired)
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a caseload of private and public children matters
- Running files independently and servicing existing work
- Undertaking advocacy where appropriate
- Working closely with paralegal and secretarial support
- Reducing pressure on the wider team by taking ownership of files
Salary & Benefits:
- Bonus structure: Target of 3x salary; 1/3 of billings above target paid as bonus once target is hit
