This is an outstanding opportunity for a Court of Protection solicitor to join one of the largest and most highly regarded COP teams in the country, supporting continued growth in Birmingham. The team is exceptionally busy, operating well above capacity, and this hire is a key part of their growth strategy. You’ll step into a role with real responsibility, exposure to complex, high-value property and financial affairs work, and the opportunity to support and lead others as the team continues to expand.
Who we’re looking for:
- Senior Court of Protection Solicitor from 5-10 PQE
- Strong experience in Property & Financial Affairs COP work
- Experience handling complex, high-value COP matters, often involving elderly clients or individuals who have lost capacity due to injury or illness
- Comfortable running your own caseload with autonomy
- A genuine interest in building a long-term career in Court of Protection
- Personable, solutions-focused and confident working in a fast-paced environment
- Desire to contribute to team growth and support others
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a purely Property & Finance COP caseload (no Health & Welfare work)
- Working on high-value, complex deputyship matters
- Supporting the wider team with supervision and day-to-day problem-solving
- Contributing to the overall growth and development of the COP department
- Working closely with senior leadership within a large, nationally structured team
- Helping relieve pressure on a team currently operating at very high utilisation
