Who we’re looking for:
- Newly qualified solicitor with a strong background in Court of Protection
- Experience managing or assisting on deputyship matters
- Excellent client care skills when working with vulnerable individuals and families
- Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act and best interests decisions
- Confident drafting legal documents and court applications
- Strong organisational skills and ability to meet court deadlines
- Comfortable working in a paperless environment
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
- Team player who is self‑motivated and professional
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a mixed caseload of deputyship administration matters, including complex and high‑value litigation award cases
- Working closely with clients who lack capacity, their families and multi‑disciplinary teams
- Advising on applicable law, procedures and legal issues
- Drafting letters, court documentation and tailored legal agreements
- Progressing best interests decisions in line with the Mental Capacity Act
- Negotiating with professionals to secure outcomes for clients
- Keeping clients informed regarding funding, insurance, costs and client account monies
- Instructing Counsel and experts where required
- Representing clients in tribunals and court where appropriate
- Supervising and delegating work to administrators and paralegals
This is a varied, meaningful role supporting vulnerable clients and their families in complex and often life‑changing circumstances.
