Take over a live caseload from day one, no need to build from scratch. Genuine autonomy: trusted to run files without micromanagement. Stable, long-standing team with realistic billing targets.
If you’re working in personal injury and want more ownership over your files, this role gives you exactly that. You’ll step straight into an existing caseload of around 100 pre‑issue files, with a strong focus on taxi credit hire work. The expectation isn’t to ease in slowly; it’s to pick things up quickly, keep momentum going, and run your files properly from day one. You’ll be trusted to manage liability, quantum and negotiations without constant oversight.
Over the first 12 months, the focus is on consistency, hitting billing targets, managing files cleanly, and building confidence in your decision‑making. From there, the role opens up. You’ll start to see more complex matters, potentially support junior colleagues, and become a key part of the team’s day‑to‑day performance.
The environment is straightforward and down to earth. It’s a smaller office where people work hard, but there’s no unnecessary pressure or politics. You’ll be supported when you need it, but left alone to get on with things once you’ve proven yourself.
Who we’re looking for:
- NQ Solicitor or experienced Paralegal with personal injury experience
- Strong working knowledge of MOJ Portal and OIC
- Experience handling credit hire claims with associated PI matters
- Ability to manage a caseload of circa 100 pre‑issue files
- Experience in claimant PI / credit hire environment
- Taxi credit hire experience (Desired)
- Strong file management and organisational skills
- Confident communicator with insurers and credit hire organisations
- Able to work independently and make decisions
- Reliable, proactive and team‑oriented
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a caseload of predominantly credit hire claims (including taxi claims)
- Handling files pre‑issue from instruction through to settlement
- Managing claims
- Dealing with liability, quantum and negotiations
- Maintaining accurate file management and compliance standards
- Meeting monthly billing targets
- Liaising with insurers, clients and third parties
- Supporting junior colleagues where appropriate
Salary & Benefits:
- Established caseload provided from day one
- Real autonomy, no micromanagement once settled
- Stable firm with long‑standing leadership and low turnover
- Clear route into more complex and higher‑value work
- Supportive, close‑knit team environment
- Realistic billing expectations aligned to experience
