Generous monthly bonus scheme with no caps. Retrain from RTA into OL/EL litigation with strong supervision and quality work. One of the few claimant firms in Manchester still actively growing its OL/PL team. While much of the claimant market has slowed down, this Manchester team is doing the opposite. New work continues to increase, the department is expanding again, and there’s a genuine ambition to become the leading claimant OL/PL/EL practice in the region.
This role would suit someone who enjoys litigated work and wants to properly get stuck into files rather than just firefight volume. The caseload is varied, predominantly non-portal and sourced from high-quality channels rather than bulk CMC work, giving you far more opportunity to develop technically and progress your earnings.
You’ll take ownership of your own caseload from cradle to grave, handling a mix of OL/PL matters through litigation and towards settlement or trial. The team is particularly open-minded on background too, so this could suit someone already handling OL/PL claims or a litigated RTA fee earner looking to retrain into a more interesting and lucrative area of personal injury work.
The culture is ambitious but supportive. High performers are rewarded very well financially, but there’s also a strong focus on development and progression. In fact, the firm rarely hires externally at Associate level because most people progress internally through the ranks. For someone who wants stronger earning potential, better-quality work and a clearer long-term progression route, this is a genuinely strong opportunity.
Who we’re looking for:
- 1 year+ PQE / CILEX / qualified by experience (E)
- Experience handling litigated files from cradle to grave (E)
- Experience in OL/PL fast-track claims (D)
- Strong litigated RTA experience with desire to retrain into OL/PL (E)
- Experience handling both portal and non-portal claims (E)
- Strong knowledge of CPR and litigation process (E)
- Comfortable progressing matters through litigation to trial/disposal hearing (E)
- Commercially driven and motivated by commission/earnings potential (E)
- Tenacious, proactive and organised (E)
- Experience using Proclaim case management system (D)
What you’ll be doing:
- Managing a litigated caseload of OL/PL claims from cradle to grave
- Conducting legal research and advising clients throughout their claims
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and other legal documents
- Negotiating settlements and attending court where required
- Progressing claims efficiently through litigation
- Working within a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Collaborating closely with colleagues to maximise client outcomes
- Keeping up to date with developments in litigation and personal injury law
Salary & Benefits:
- Salary up to £55,000 depending on experience
