Work on high-value clinical negligence claims, including catastrophic injury and £1m+ cases. Develop alongside experienced specialists while managing your own quality caseload. Enjoy hybrid working, genuine flexibility and a culture built around trust rather than targets.

Not every clinical negligence role gives you the opportunity to build genuine relationships with clients whose lives have been turned upside down. This one does. You’ll join a specialist team acting for people who have suffered life-changing injuries through medical negligence, helping them rebuild their lives after events that have had a profound impact on them and their families. The work is challenging, technically interesting and, above all, meaningful.

From day one, you’ll manage your own caseload of clinical negligence matters while working closely with experienced lawyers on more complex, higher-value claims. These include brain injuries, birth injuries, delayed diagnosis cases, fatal claims and other catastrophic injuries, giving you the opportunity to develop your expertise without being left to figure everything out alone. You’ll become increasingly involved in case strategy, work directly with leading medical experts and have the opportunity to play a significant role in securing life-changing outcomes for your clients.

Unlike larger teams where junior lawyers can feel removed from the people they’re helping, you’ll have direct client contact throughout. You’ll see first-hand the difference your work makes, building trusted relationships with clients while working collaboratively with colleagues who genuinely enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting one another. It’s a team that values quality over volume.

You’ll have the autonomy to manage your work in a way that suits you, supported by experienced colleagues and a culture built on trust, flexibility and delivering the very best outcomes for clients.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with 4+ years’ PQE in Clinical Negligence
  • Experience managing a clinical negligence caseload independently
  • Strong technical knowledge across claimant clinical negligence matters
  • Excellent client care skills with an empathetic and professional approach
  • Strong organisation and case management skills
  • Keen to develop your expertise on complex, high-value claims
  • Collaborative and supportive team player
  • Experience working on catastrophic or higher-value claims (desirable)

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing your own caseload of claimant clinical negligence claims
  • Supporting senior lawyers on complex, high-value matters, including £1m+ claims
  • Advising clients on claims involving NHS and private healthcare providers
  • Handling a varied caseload including brain injury, birth injury, delayed diagnosis and fatal claims
  • Working closely with medical experts, counsel and other professionals
  • Helping develop case strategy from investigation through to settlement or trial
  • Building strong relationships with clients through regular communication and support
  • Contributing to business development and raising your professional profile over time

Salary & benefits:

  • Competitive salary plus bonus scheme
  • Hybrid working with up to two days working from home
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and your birthday off
  • Enhanced maternity leave
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Death in service cover
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Travel season ticket loan
  • Paid charity volunteering day
  • Regular team events and long service awards
  • Ongoing training and professional development
  • Modern Manchester city centre office
