Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and motivated Junior Designer to join our growing design team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong design education and initial experience within the luxury fashion industry, who is eager to develop their skills within a hands-on, collaborative environment. The successful candidate will support the design process from concept through to production, working closely with the internal design and production teams, as well as external freelance designers. This role requires both creative flair and practical, technical understanding to translate design ideas into beautifully realised garments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & Development
    • Support the design team in developing seasonal collections from concept to final product
    • Produce hand sketches and CAD designs in line with brand aesthetic and collection direction
    • Create clear and accurate technical drawings and design specifications
    • Assist with colour, fabric, and trim selection
  • Technical & Production Support
    • Develop and update technical packs, measurements, and construction details
    • Liaise with pattern cutters, sample makers, and production teams during sampling and fittings
    • Support fit sessions and assist with comments and revisions
    • Ensure designs are commercially viable and production-ready
  • Sourcing & Research
    • Source fabrics, trims, and components from relevant suppliers in line with quality, cost, and sustainability goals
    • Conduct trend, fabric, and market research to support collection development
    • Maintain organised records of suppliers, samples, and design references
  • Collaboration
    • Work closely with the wider design team, production team, and freelance designers
    • Support cross-functional communication to ensure smooth development timelines
    • Assist the Creative Director and senior designers with ad-hoc design tasks as required

Skills & Experience

  • Essential
    • Degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Design or a related discipline
    • Some professional experience within the luxury or premium fashion industry
    • Strong sketching and CAD design skills
    • Solid understanding of garment construction, pattern cutting, and sampling
    • Experience creating technical drawings and basic technical packs
    • Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop)
    • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
    • Resourceful, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Desirable
    • Experience working with woven fabrics, tailoring, or heritage materials
    • Familiarity with UK and European fabric and trim suppliers
    • An interest in British heritage fashion and craftsmanship

Working Pattern

Based primarily in the London office, 1–2 days per week required in the Theale office, flexible working from home 1 day per week.

Salary

Range between Β£30k - Β£35k per annum
