About the Company: We are a well-established company specialising in the refitting of coffee vans, providing high-quality customisation and conversion services. We are known for our commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.

Job Overview: We are looking for a hands-on and experienced Vehicle Conversion Technician with a strong electrician background, particularly in the context of camper vans or boats. This role involves all aspects of vehicle conversion with a bias towards electrical installation and carpentry. The ideal candidate will be personable, easy-going, and capable of both working on the refits and ad hoc building maintenance alongside our team of skilled technicians. Bringing an electrical skill set to the team is important, so you must have the relevant and up to date electrical installation certificates to be considered for the role. Alongside this, we are keen to recruit someone with a great attitude and a practical mindset that can fit into our workshop team as large portions of the role involve fitting panels and other aspects of the conversion that doesn’t require electrics. The wide salary band is open to negotiation as it’s based on qualifications, knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Involved in the day-to-day tasks of the workshop, ensuring all refit projects are completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.
  • Work directly on catering van and camper van refits, specialising in electrics and wiring, ensuring all installations are safe, efficient, and meet customer specifications.
  • Follow workshop schedules and guidance of Workshop Manager.
  • Follow and maintain health and safety protocols within the workshop environment.
  • Continuously seek to improve workshop processes and procedures, driving quality and efficiency.
  • Support with all other aspects within the workshop such as stock takes, cleaning/tidying, overseeing incoming/outgoing deliveries etc.

Key Requirements:

  • Electrical installation certificates and qualifications.
  • Strong background in electronics and wiring, with specific experience in camper van or boat refitting.
  • Carpenter and/or multi-trade experience is essential.
  • Vehicle maintenance experience would be ideal but not essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Ability to work effectively both hands-on in the workshop and within the conversion team.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Full UK driving licence (vehicles may need moving around the premises, delivering or collecting as well as other ad hoc tasks involving picking up materials from suppliers etc).

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
  • Opportunity to work with a passionate and dedicated team.
  • A supportive and friendly working environment.
  • Career development opportunities.
